Law Students & Attorneys Partner to Provide Pro Bono Help

During the fall semester, students at the University of Arkansas School of Law and William H. Bowen School of Law participated in clinics to help low-income Arkansans with their legal questions. Students worked with volunteer attorneys to provide answers to legal questions that had been posted on AR.freelegalanswers.org. The questions were posted by Arkansans who could not otherwise afford legal help. Volunteers answered questions covering a wide variety of legal problems from divorce and custody to landlord-tenant issues.

“Law school clinics are critical to the success of AR Free Legal Answers. Our law student volunteers bring energy and enthusiasm that helps us recruit new attorney volunteers. These clinics are also often where our most difficult questions get answered.” Said Jordan Bates-Rogers, State Administrator for AR Free Legal Answers.

With help from law school students and our other volunteers, AR Free Legal Answers has served over 280 Arkansans so far this year. If you would like to help us serve even more indigent Arkansans, you can sign up to volunteer by clicking the link below.

AR Free Legal Answers lets you do pro bono from anywhere you have an internet connection. We screen clients for financial eligibility and provide malpractice insurance. You even get to preview questions before you decide whether to answer them. Most questions can be answered in under 15 minutes.
