300+ Arkansans Helped by AR Free Legal Answers in 2019

The Year that Was

2019 was a banner year for AR Free Legal Answers. The year started with a grant from the Arkansas Bar Foundation to help us let Arkansans know about Free Legal Answers. With that grant we printed 10,000 brochures and throughout the year we distributed them at courthouses, shelters, and libraries across the state. That effort paid off with a 53% increase in the number of questions answered by our volunteer attorneys, compared to 2018.

We also welcomed many new volunteers to Free Legal Answers in 2019. Thirty-one new volunteer attorneys joined the site! Many of these new volunteers signed up to answer their first question thanks to partnerships with the William H. Bowen School of Law and the University of Arkansas School of Law. Both of the state’s law schools have partnered with us to offer an AR Free Legal Answers clinic on campus at least once a semester. These clinics were critical to our success. At the clinics law students partner with experienced attorneys to answer the most difficult questions that we receive.

Thank you to all of our volunteers and partners who made 2019 a great year! To learn about our plans for 2020 and how you can get involved, keep scrolling.
