- Language Justice Project
- Court Forms Translation Project: 39 forms completed of 51 forms received from several district and circuit courts. Languages requested are Spanish, Karen and Marshallese.
- Working with OCIS, the Marshallese Educational Initiative, and the Customary Law and Language Commission to reinstate the Marshallese interpreter certification exam.
- 1 Workshop in collaboration with the Center for Arkansas Legal Services to provide legal resources to people with limited English proficiency.
- Free Legal Answers
- Virtual Clinics: 6 scheduled between August 11 and Nov. 3; plus 2 clinics left for the year). We need to increase our answer rate.
- In-Person Clinics: 3 scheduled for the year. 1 on Oct. 16, 2023, in partnership with Entergy & several FLA sites (DC, TX, MS, & LA) and local firms (Quattlebaum in AR) with 118 participants. 2 upcoming clinics in partnership with the Ark. Bar Association YLS. One scheduled on Nov. 16 from 3-5 pm (Supply Chain Hall of Fame in NWA) & another one in Central AR on Nov. 29 from 3-5 p.m. (location TBD).
- Other Clinics: 1 Naturalization clinic in partnership with Legal Aid, both state law schools, & several non-profits. Helped nearly 80 legal permanent residents become U.S. Citizens.
- CLEs: Pro Bono Appeals Basics (Aug. 18), Naturalization CLE (Sept. 15), Divorce 101 CLE (Oct. 26), & an upcoming CLE Veterans Appeal Process and Legal Resources for Veterans (Nov. 30).
